Program Description

SU Abroad - Internships in Istanbul, Turkey

Description:

Taking part in a SU Abroad internship in Istanbul is a great way to expand your cultural horizons and make a positive contribution while studying abroad. Students have the option to take part in internships with many public and private firms, including service learning projects for those looking for a more volunteer based approach. SU Abroad offers two distinct types of internships in Turkey, one for undergraduates and a more intensive internship for graduate students.

Internship placements are only offered in conjunction with the SU study abroad program at Bahcesehir University. Internships can not be taken independently.

Five reasons to intern with us!

Flexibility! Undergraduates can enroll in part-time internships in Istanbul, and contribute about 12 hours weekly towards their internship. This allows students plenty of time to contribute to their studies, as well as explore Istanbul, a magnificent city with thousands of year’s worth of history and architecture. Graduate students enroll in more intensive internships; however, graduate internships are also available in Ankara, the capital city of Turkey, for those looking for a change in scenery.

Support! A SU Abroad coordinator works with all students interning abroad. Traveling abroad is new to many college students and can take some adjusting; our SU coordinators assist students interning in Ankara and Istanbul to gain the most out of their internship in Turkey!

Options! Students can take part in almost any kind of internship in Istanbul. SU Abroad offers options in public and private institutions, as well as service learning options.

Professional and personal development! Interning abroad helps students become true global citizens. You will have the opportunity to learn about the cultural difference between your home country and Turkey and experience cultural exchange first hand. Interns will also take away solid professional skills which will carry them a long way when applying for jobs when they return home, as well as provide an extra spark on grad/post-grad applications.

Diversity! Syracuse University programs accept applications from all accredited US schools as well as international institutions; check our website with updated information on program requirements. You will also have plenty of downtime to explore the culture and diversity of Istanbul with students from all around the world!
