I had a fabulous experience working with AIDE. My only complaint was that it took a while to get the actual start and end dates for my trip and I had to delay booking a flight until then.
Once I got to Peru, I also had a good experience with the in-country agency. The family I stayed with was absolutely wonderful. I spent a lot of my free time during the weeks watching TV with my host sisters and my host mother was a fantastic cook. We had a big lunch every day and small breakfasts and dinners - I had lots of bread and hot tea since it was winter. I also got to do a lot of traveling in the Sacred Valley area around Cusco. The Tourist Ticket is a good investment and you get a discount if you have an International Student ID card. I felt safe the whole time I was there, although I was more cautious with my stuff than I would be at home. I would recommend bringing a small bag that zips up as I only had a large backpack to carry things in.
I took individual Spanish classes for the first two weeks of my trip which helped me with a lot of the vocabulary I needed for my internship. My teacher was very friendly.
My actual internship experience was four weeks long and not quite what I expected. The information from AIDE indicated that I would be assisting in a classroom to teach English. However, at the school where I worked, the teachers would often leave while I conducted a lesson. I was not prepared for this on the first day but I was quickly able to figure out how to teach. The kids, especially the older ones, could be a little crazy but I got them to do work by threatening to keep them inside longer at recess. There were not many materials commonly found in U.S. classrooms so my teaching was a bit improvised. I did really enjoy getting to know the kids at the school and I hope that I was able to help them with their English skills.
I wish I had brought my laptop with me because I took so many pictures there wasn't room on my camera. There are many cheap Internet cafes all around the city but they don't have a very fast connection so I wasn't able to download any pictures while I was in the country.

Overall, the teaching program in Madrid was amazing! I was able to assimilate into the culture at a much faster rate since I was living with a Spanish family, and they were able to direct me to the right restaurants and outings as well. The best part was being able to learn Spanish. Especially in Madrid, where hardly anyone speaks English, it pushed me further to learn the language and practice it on a regular basis.

I consider my internship in Melbourne an unforgettable experience, not only because of all the professional experience I was able to take with me, but discovering an incredible city full of life, art and nice people really changed my life.
Melbourne is simply amazing. I was expecting more of a warm beach town, but when I finally got there a big windy city surprised me (it was winter).. But the weather is the least thing that worried me, all the activities, the multicultural scene, and food were incredible..
I worked for 5 months in an digital marketing company called Komosion, all my colleagues were very nice and friendly to me, always putting attention to my questions and needs. We are still in touch!

Aide Abroad provides NO support for their customers and completely falsified the actuality of my medical internship in Costa Rica. I PAID to volunteer in a clinic that had NO patients. I went 6 hours a day for 25 days and 11 of the days there were zero patients. this is absolutely ridiculous! When i asked for a refund they were unhelpful and disregarded my experience. It was a COMPLETE waste of time and money. DO NOT volunteer through Aide Abroad it is a complete tourist rip off and doesn't provide any actual experience or support.
