Submit Your Travel Writing to Go Overseas for SubmissionIn general, we are looking for writers who possess a unique voice and deep knowledge and experience of a place, either from having lived there or having spent considerable time there. All writers must have the ability to write articles that are both soulful and relevant to a diverse readership.

Read the Following Before Submitting

One. Create a Go Overseas account - All prospective contributors must create a free Go Overseas profile. Preference is given to writers who actively engage in the Go Overseas community. Submissions from authors without a Go Overseas profile will not be considered.

Two. Familiarize yourself with the site and the content that is published here.

Three. Avoid covering the same topics - Unless you have an amazing new angle on a topic we’ve already examined, offer something fresh.

Four. Publishing rights - Read our full Publishing & Author’s Rights.

Five. Payment - All authors receive $25 per article, payable via PayPal, upon publication. At present, this fee is non-negotiable.

Six. Pseudonyms - We do not publish work by writers who request a pseudonym.

Sending in Your Draft

One. Write an original draft that does not exceed 1,000 words. 800 is ideal.

Do not send an article that has already been published somewhere else, including any work that has been published as a blog.

Two. Check your spelling, punctuation, grammar, and -important- facts. Submissions sent with numerous errors are unprofessional and will not be considered for publication.

Three. Submissions received without all the accompanying information requested on the submission form will not be considered.

Four. You may include up to one photo in your submission.

After Submitting

Submit Your Travel Writing to Go Overseas for PublicationOne. Due to the volume of submissions received, it may take up to two weeks for our editors to respond to you.

Two. We will contact you to let you know whether your article has been accepted for publication, whether it requires revision, or whether we have opted not to publish it.

Three. Once you have been notified that your article has been accepted, it will be reviewed by the Go Overseas editorial team. Your article will likely be edited in some way. We do this for brevity, focus, flow, and coherence. Your title may also be changed to reflect a more compelling description of the content, and to target relevant search engine keywords.
