Welcome to the Go Overseas Blog
This website, and blog, is about you, the traveler. Go Overseas was started for a very simple reason: To help people make more informed decisions about programs abroad. The idea came from searching for programs ourselves. There’s a ton of information out there on the interwebs, but it’s not easy to separate the great from the good, the good from the bad and the bad from the downright scams. It’s one thing when you’re buying a used book. It’s another thing when you’re going halfway around the world to a new country through an organization you’ve never heard of before.
That’s where the Go review system comes in. This site lists (nearly!) every single program in the world. This is where you, dear user, come in. Use the site and enjoy it. We hope it helps you choose a great program. Fast Forward a bit... Now you’ve had a great experience abroad and your program is coming to an end. Come back to Go and leave a review. You benefited from the reviews of others, right? Pay it forward, follow The Golden Rule, treat others as you would yourself… insert any other cheesy phrase which fits. The point is, come back to the Go site and leave a review. It’s the only fair thing to do. You can be a small part of changing lives by helping people choose reputable programs. Help us accomplish our ambitious goal. You’ll hear us say it often: All of us here at Go have very ambitious/idealistic goals and we aren’t shy about it.
Remember that this is YOUR site. We get lots of feedback from the Go community everyday, and guess what? We really do listen. Then we do the things you ask for. We’ve added features and changed aspects of this website due to feedback from users like you. Everyone has benefited from that, so please do your small part and contribute: Leave a review of a program you’ve participated in and answer (or ask) a question in the forums.
Comments, questions, criticism? Feel free to leave them in the comment section of this blog and we’ll be sure to respond. We wouldn’t be living our mission statement if we didn’t encourage feedback of all kinds!
And with that (hopefully) informative, interesting and witty introduction, the Go Blog has been born. We’ve considered having a blog for awhile and ultimately decided it would serve as another forum for us to interact with our users. That entails a two-way street, so share your opinions below!… Ahem… this is getting awkward… we’re waiting to hear your thoughts… the comment box is just below this. You know that, right? Ok, we’ll leave it in your hands. Do the right thing.
