CUPA
Programs and Reviews

CUPA, or the Center for University Programs Abroad, was founded in New York in 1963. Originally the Center for Overseas Undergraduate Programs, CUPA is an independent organization that focuses on studying abroad in Paris. CUPA's offices can be found close to the Luxembourg Gardens on the Left Bank in Montparnasse. The study abroad programs are held entirely in French alongside French counterparts, and students are directly matriculated with a variety of Parisian activities at their fingertips. Great program for everything!

The CUPA program is the best I know of for studying in France. Students have an enormous range of classes to choose from and high quality staff to help along the way. The three classes CUPA offers at their office each semester are fantastic and I highly recommend them. I took Le Cinema Francais Aujourd'hui with Michel Bondurand who is an amazing teacher. Any class you can take with him will open your mind and widen your smile!

Be prepared, however, for the French university system. It is a huge change from how classes at American universities are taught, which is both good and bad. The bottom line is, don't go into your classes expecting to get a similar experience just taught in French. If you're not ready for a change, I'd suggest taking all of your classes at CUPA or at smaller universities in Paris.
