Program Description
Gap Year Diver - Diving Courses and Internships in Honduras
Travel to Utila, Honduras to spend your gap year abroad diving in the magnificent Caribbean. The country is located in Central America, giving it an ideal tropical climate in between the Pacific and the Caribbean, and also providing you with a fantastic stretch of phenomenal coastlines. Utila is different than mainland Honduras; because it was under British rule for 300 years during the colonial era, the main language spoken is English, rather than Spanish. It is a largely agrarian and fishing community, however it is rumored that Henry Morgan’s treasure is buried in this area.
Programs include an instructive diving course, where you will become a certified PADI diver and go on explorations, and a dive-master internship, where you will be completing a Marine Science instructor program, taking professional underwater photos, and other dive-master work.
No Spanish proficiency or language instruction needed!
Utila has a fantastic nightlife, with bars, restaurants and endless opportunities to meet other worldwide travelers.
