This 4 week experience in Malaysia is focused on Orangutan conservation in the Malaysian National Zoo and Borneo. Participants will spend the first 2 weeks working at Zoo Negara in Kuala Lumpur, where you will have the opportunity to take care of chimps, orangutans, and other apes as well. The Zoo is packed with wildlife, and you will have the chance to work up close and personal with a variety of species.
The last 2 weeks are spent at a wildlife sanctuary in Borneo, where you will work with local tribes on habitat restoration of Orangutans. Interested applicants are encouraged to visit the Real Gap website to learn more about this conservation gap year programs in Malaysia.
