Position Title: ESL Instructor (10 positions)

Introduction:

US-China Business & Culture Exchange, Inc. has been appointed as recruitment agency by an English Language training organization in Shanghai, China to recruit ESL instructors from the United States to be taught in public school system in Shanghai between elementary and high school levels. Our duties and responsibilities are to conduct hiring process from application reviews, screening, job interview, placement, and any other related matters. Our job interview sessions will only be conducted through Skype. The contract of employment will be executed between the successful candidate and the school.

This organization is a well-established with excellent reputation in Shanghai, and has more than 100 foreign teachers are currently employed from worldwide yearly. This organization has been awarded Five-A Ranking (the highest ranking) as Non-State-owned Non-Manufacturing Organization by Shanghai Municipal Government for six years in a row. In addition, this organization is authorized by the Chinese government to process Foreign Expert Certificate for qualified teachers, the only official certificate to legally authorize a foreigner to be a teacher in China.

A full-time English teacher will teach 26 periods of class every week at select public school either in elementary, middle and high school (generally 35 minutes per period at elementary schools and 40 minutes per period at middle and high schools). Working hours are on daytime from Monday to Friday only. The school provides textbooks, teacher’s manuals, flashcards and other teaching materials. If a teacher would like to earn an extra income during his/her leisure time, a recommendation of legal part-time teaching job is allowed. A free Mandarin course is offered to all teachers all year around.

Qualifications:

- Native English-speaker
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum)
- 120-hour TEFL or TESOL Certificate or at least two years of teaching experience
- No criminal records
- In good health condition
- Outgoing and passionate for helping young students to learn
- Able to adapt to different cultural and social environment

Remuneration & Benefits:

1) Monthly salary of RMB 12,000 (before tax) for a weekly teaching load of 26 periods of classes
2) Reimbursement of two-way economy-class airfare between the teacher’s home country and Shanghai for one-year contract;
3) Reimbursement of the teacher’s work visa for working at Shanghai, work permit in China which allows the teacher to leave/re-enter the country multiple times, and one medical examination in Shanghai
4) Foreign Expert Certificate (the only official document which legally authorizes a foreigner to be a teacher in China)
5) Free Comprehensive Accident & Health Insurance for the teacher for the entire contract period, which covers major expenses for hospitalization
6) Monthly commute allowance of RMB 150
7) Paid sick leave and statutory holidays in China
8) Performance-based bonus at the end of every semester (Maximum of RMB 3,000 per semester)
9) Completion bonus at the end of the contract
10) Free Mandarin course offered
11) Free airport pickup
