Internships in Costa Rica focus on working to help the country’s growth, specifically Social Work, Environmental Science, Tourism and Education.
Atenas is only forty-five minutes from the country’s capital, San Jose. Located in the central highlands of Costa Rica, the town is made up of 5,000 residents and is central to Costa Rican history and culture.
The scenery is laid-back and stunning; many of the residents base their livelihood on growing mangoes, coffee and oranges. Agriculture is the country’s main economic revenue.
Housing is assigned by home stays which can be single or shared rooms. 3 meals a day of delicious traditional Costa Rican food are included in the total internship costs.
Prior to departure, a guide will be given to each intern explaining what to expect when interning abroad in Costa Rica. Once placement has been arranged, a mini-orientation will be provided on-site.
Since the country is geographically small, in the interns’ free time they can travel to nearby cloud forests, volcanoes, beaches, or museums in San Jose.
