Moshi, the capital of the Kilimanjaro Region and a former economic giant of Tanzania, remains one of the largest towns in the region. The Chagga tribe has a large population within this area — home to many types of farms, ranging in products from bananas to coffee.
All CCS programs feature our unique program design which includes a volunteer placement matching your skills and interests to the immediate needs of the community, Cultural & Learning Activities to learn more about the local culture and customs, Free Time for independent exploration, and lodging in a CCS Home-Base where you will stay with fellow volunteers.
The Intern Abroad program is unique because its academic structure will help you to make the most of your experience and apply it academically. Upon enrollment, you’ll choose an area of focus — Education, Health, or Social Services — and set your learning objectives.
You’ll be advised by a dedicated Intern Supervisor who is from the local community and knowledgeable in your chosen field.
Our programs are designed with flexibility in mind. You choose when you go, where you go, and how long you stay.
We are committed to operating the safest programs possible and going the extra mile at every opportunity to do so. From the decision to operate in a particular country to the design of the CCS Home-Base to the rigorous staff training on emergency policies and procedures, we are dedicated to the safety of our volunteers. Our entire infrastructure is designed around volunteer safety.
