Like you, I am passionate about traveling and experiencing different cultures. I first traveled to Taiwan to teach English and instantly fell in love with its friendly people and delicious food. My aim is to model future travel after the motto of this website, "Travel with a Purpose". After participating in a program abroad, make sure to come back and leave a rating and review on this website. User ratings and reviews are the most important resource on Go Overseas, so give back to the community by leaving a review of any program you have participated in.

Take the easy way out.
Editor’s Note: The article you are about to read is to be taken extremely seriously and is no way an Onion-style satirical piece. This article is the 2nd in a multi-part investigative series about the dangers of spending meaningful time abroad. To be safe, we recommend reading part 1: Why Studying Abroad Will Ruin Your Life.
Despite – and partially due to – the increased popularity of volunteering abroad, people rarely discuss the darker side of helping the less fortunate. Recent surveys show that only 99.4% of people are happy with their volunteer experience. That...

Go is extremely proud and happy (even giddy) to announce the launch of our updated Rating and Review System. The Go Review system speaks to the heart and soul of this website. We’ve included all sorts of helpful and fun new features in our review system. We think our new review system looks pretty darn spiffy. As our famous Marketing Director, Tucker Hutchinson, likes to say, “It’s 2.0”.
So sue us, we’re proud parents and we’re not going to stop bragging about our beautiful child. We want the world to know about our review system. We don’t plan on stopping until we have extensive reviews for...

GO Overseas President Mitch Gordon spends six minutes discussing "Teaching Abroad in Asia: Top 5 Countries". Mitch will give an overview of the factors involved in deciding on a country: salary & benefits, class schedule, lifestyle, culture, etc. Most importantly, make sure you end up at a good school that will treat you well and provide a good support system. This website, and blog, is about you, the traveler. Go Overseas was started for a very simple reason: To help people make more informed decisions about programs abroad. The idea came from searching for programs ourselves. There’s a ton of information out there on the interwebs, but it’s not easy to separate the great from the good, the good from the bad and the bad from the downright scams. It’s one thing when you’re buying a used book. It’s another thing when you’re going halfway around the world to a new country through an organization you’ve never heard of before.
That’s where the Go...

It's true. Studying abroad will ruin your life.
Studying abroad is increasingly popular, but people rarely discuss the dark side of leaving the comforts of your home country. Results of a recent survey show only 99.6% of students were happy with their study abroad experience. Why risk being a part of the .4% of people who don’t have the best experiences of their lives? We recommend staying home, it’s the only safe choice. Watch another season of Jersey Shore or America’s Next Top Model and try to avoid any opportunities for personal and professional growth. Sure, you may not remember...
