Bacon is Magic
By Ayngelina: I’ve lived in Toronto for the last 9 years but I’m from a very small town on the East Coast. At 16 my mother sent me to France for the summer to learn French. This was no easy feat; it was expensive but she understood the value of travel. Drinking cocoa for breakfast and beer after dinner, I returned home with a new outlook on life.

New World Review
By Nicholas: In 2009, after years of writing and shooting for everyone else (Conde Nast Traveler, New York Times, Afar, Nat Geo Traveler, etc), guidebook author, writer, and photographer Nicholas Gill realized that many of the best details of the New World – meaning Latin America & the America’s at large, but occasionally beyond – were being left out of the traditional media. He launched this site where he can write about anything he wants.
Travelojos
By Steven: My name is Steven Roll and I’m the guy behind Travelojos. When I’m not busy making a living as a legal editor for a Washington, D.C.-area publishing company, I enjoy learning about all things Mexican and Latin American, including fascinating sites, interesting cultural aspects, and great food. The Travelojos blog allows me to share that passion.
Upside Down World
By Benjamin: Upside Down World is an online magazine covering activism and politics in Latin America. Founded in 2003, it is made up of work from writers, activists, artists and regular citizens from around the globe who are interested in flipping the world upside down...or right side up.
Wandering Trader
By Marcello: I was 13 years old: working two jobs, going to school, and doing extra curricular activities like soccer and weight training. I was working for my freedom. Fast forward 5 years: I ditched the extra curriculars, only went to high school for 3 classes with on the job training, and worked 4 jobs. I was the obsessive salesman, a “fanatical entrepreneur”, I was working for my freedom.
Balanced Melting Pot
By Deborah: My parents emigrated from Haiti when I was three years-old and my sister and I soon followed. I grew up in Marin County, California where I learned quickly to assimilate to the American culture. Throughout my childhood, I seesawed between the very conservative culture of my parents and the often times “liberal” culture of my peers. By the time I finished high school, I began to realize that I felt much more comfortable with the idea of being a Haitian immigrant in American society and started gravitating towards more of my parents’ cultural norms.
The South America Blog
By Rob: This website, South America Me, is a managed by Rob Woodward, a New Zealander that has been living in Chile since 1997 and his wonderful Chilean wife Angélica Prieto.
Tourist2Townie
By Gareth: I decided to create Tourist2Townie.com. To connect with like-minded dream chasers, share unique travel adventures and provide inspiration and advice for regular people who wish to do remarkable things. This site is more of a social experiment and lifestyle design than it is a travel blog. It’s about people more than it is about places. It’s about chasing dreams rather than following the norm.
