The opportunity to study abroad as an international student was extremely exciting; however, was also a very large decision to make. With Edith Cowan University (ECU) as the destination, there was no doubt that receiving world-class education while experiencing a new city and country served well. I chose ECU for a variety of reasons; however, the main reason to study there was because of their ability to not only show their academic excellence, but also their true nature in terms of helping students expand their knowledge while allowing them to grow as individuals as well.

Originally, I moved to Perth with a clear idea of my three to five year plan upon returning back to Toronto, Canada; however, a few weeks in to my adventure, I knew things had changed. My trip was no longer strictly about academics, but rather an opportunity to grow as an individual, meet new people and live in a new and exciting country. I did some domestic and international travelling during my time in Australia as well and continued to learn that life is not always about the things you once thought; but life is an opportunity to live, learn and grow as an individual and as an integral part of our growing global society.

The opportunity to study in Perth, Australia was extremely exciting. Perth offers world-class education in a healthy economy. With a strong, sophisticated, and vibrant city as the backdrop to academic studies, I was thrilled I had the opportunity to learn and experience a whole new world. The ability to travel, meet new people, and enjoy all that Australia has to offer was the chance of a lifetime!

I sign off with the following…be inspired, get motivated and take a chance at growing through studying abroad; I guarantee you will learn something new about yourself and your new-found surroundings.

Before I arrived in Australia, my Austra Learn counselor was extremely helpful and qualified, sending out reminders, keeping in check with due dates, and assisting me with any and all questions that I had in the process. I would highly recommend this program provider to anyone interested in a study abroad experience in Australia. After settling in for a good number of weeks, I have become comfortable with attending classes, working a job at a local pub, hanging out with friends I've met here, and enjoying the exploration of the cities around me. I can't compare this experience to anything else in my life thus far. It is completely refreshing, unique, and remarkable in so many respects. I feel very lucky to have a full set of teachers who are inspiring and cooperative, and a campus that's accommodating and friendly. I would recommend this experience to anyone who is adventurous and looking for new perspective.
