About Program
Learn about the Himalayan peoples, cultures, and religions in the vibrant and dynamic nation of Nepal. Spend six weeks in Kathmandu, home to a significant Tibetan community, and study topics such as the Dalai Lama’s Middle Way approach, human rights in Tibet, and traditional Tibetan medicine, Sowa Rigpa. Explore ancient pilgrimage routes, deconstruct myths about Tibet, and trek to rural mountain communities. Learn Tibetan, with the option to study Nepali, and complete independent research or an internship.
This program earn a minor in Himalayan studies or South Asian studies. You will learn about Himalayan culture, religion, and politics and the issues faced by contemporary Himalayan communities.
This program offers immersive experiential learning with strong academic support, deep cultural engagement, and opportunities for independent research.
