Do i have to pay for my volunteering?

As KNGO receives no government funding and provides a free education for our students, charity food programs for poor families, housing for poor families, a donation of US$350 is requested from volunteers. This helps to maintain the free education for our students on an ongoing basis.
What benefit do I get from my volunteer experience?

Besides spending your day with the kids, we want to make your stay in Cambodia an unforgettable experience.

Included in your stay is:

Transported from your accommodation to KNGO on the first day.
Provided with a city sightseeing tour.
Provided with a 2 days tour to explore the countryside and tourist attractions, the temple

About Program

We are seeking volunteers to assist our Khmer teachers with our English Literacy Program regardless of whether you have teaching experience or not. Volunteers must be able to speak conversational English. The interaction volunteers have with our students makes a huge impact on their development. Special skills, eg: art, music, sport, IT etc are always an advantage. Volunteers in the areas of admin, community welfare and maintenance are also welcome. Groups and families will be considered
Volunteering is possible any time except April. In April we are closed due to national holiday. Please feel free to contact us for availability and your travel arrangements.

I had an amazing life changing experience volunteering at KNGO. The smiles, laughter and positivity of children at the school was always a delight to see every morning. Although they lived in impoverished conditions with often life threatening illnesses, they were so happy to come to school and learn. It was like their escape where they were treated equally and provided opportunities.

What would you improve about this program?

Unfortunately do to low funding this program does not include accommodation or transport. This is no trouble however as it can be organised with the help of the staff and it is very low cost.
