Johnny Vagabond
By Wes: My name is Wes Nations and this is my first blog. Having recently turned 39 for the fourth time, I’ve decided to fulfill a life-long dream and take a year off to travel the world. I’ll be visiting the developing world, mostly — taking my time and trying to be as flexible as possible. I’ve traveled some before: 6 months in India, 3 weeks in Italy, 2 months in Amsterdam, and I once spent a summer on my motorcycle, touring the national parks of the American West.

Seat of Our Pants
By Jamie: You know the saying, “to fly by the seat of your pants?” Well, that's been our philosophy for most of our adult lives – before and after meeting, falling in love and marrying. We're now taking that idea on an extended round-the-world trip. Follow us as we share the good, the bad and the downright nasty of life on the road.

Now I’m in the process of selling everything I own to live out of a backpack as I travel the world indefinitely. To Uncertainty & Beyond!
By Clark and Kim: To Uncertainty & Beyond is filled with travel stories, tips, mishaps, photography, city guides, and gear reviews to help plan your big trip. We had good jobs, a nice apartment, and loads of…stuff. But who needs any of that? We quit the jobs, ditched the apartment, and sold the stuff. Two 70L backpacks were all we needed.

Traveling Savage
By Keith: I’m a newly-minted 30-year old hunkered down at a desk job in the dairy state. Things are miraculously “good” by most common definitions of the term. I live with a loving and beautiful wife. I have a nice new house in a nice neighborhood. I have one too many cats. I have LCD HDTVs and all kinds of music equipment and video game systems and mechanized yard implements. I also had an amazing vacuum of spirit. I had a revelation.

Have Kids, Will Travel
By Sophie: A 30something maman to three lovely little girls and wifey to a fabulous Frenchman, I am a permanent expat. On the move now for five and a half years, we moved with my hubby's work as a structural engineer from the UK to live in Auckland, NZ, then on to Lautoka in the Fiji Islands, and from there to our current location, Sydney, Australia.

Nomadic Matt
By Matt: I’m a twenty-something vagabond who has been on the road regularly since 2005. I’m a native of Boston, Mass but, now, everywhere has been my home. After a trip to Thailand in 2005, I decided to leave the rat race and explore the world so I finished my MBA, quit my cubicle job, and, in July 2006, I set out on an adventure around the world.

Jasmine Wanders
By Jasmine: I’m 25 years old. I’m from Florida. I graduated from university in 2007 and felt like I needed a big change in my life, so I moved across the country to Arizona. I distinctly remember going to Wal-mart in Mesa, AZ and observing the people around me. Kids were climbing out of carts whining while stressed out parents were picking out paint for their bathroom. It was then that I realized that I don’t want my life to look like that. I don’t want to live a life that was designed by someone else, a life that my society tells me epitomizes success. I decided that my education wasn’t over, and that there was a lot more for me to learn and see. I sold and gave away all my worldly possessions and booked a flight to New Zealand.

Connvoyage
By Connie: Hello, my name is Connie Hum and it has long been my dream to travel the globe and experience new cultures while positively impacting the world and the people around me. I made the decision at the end of 2008 to leave my amazing apartment in New York City and job with an international consulting firm and haven't looked back since! I'm currently embarking on a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants-while-I-slowly-meander-around-the-world journey that can only reaffirm my belief in humanity and all the good that this world holds. I only hope that I can inspire some good of my own along the way!

Travel With Den Den
By Denise: There are as many kinds of travellers as there are people in this world. Some people take short vacations once or twice a year and then return to the country of their birth where they have a life, a home and a regular job. Some save for years to have enough money to splurge on one, long, country-binging round-the-world trip, and then again, return to the place they call home. But for some, travelling itself becomes a lifestyle, and seeing how much beauty and diversity there is the world, and how longer periods are needed to make sense of it, choose to become nomads and to redefine the meaning of ‘home’. I am such a traveller.

By David & Helen: On the 18th Oct' 2010 we are heading off on our travels. We have handed in our notice's & pulled the plug on freelance work. We have packed our rucksacks, sorted out camera gear, had our jabs, booked a one-way flight to Tokyo & have a loose plan of where we want to go. We are leaving our work-related lives behind & venturing into the unknown to soak up three continents & the many cultures that accompany them.

Touropia
By Robin: I have been an enthusiastic traveler ever since I went backpacking around the Mediterranean many, many years ago. Nowadays I enjoy traveling to several new countries and destinations each year, discovering beautiful scenery, exotic cultures, beach life and other great things found around the globe. This blog is not about my personal travel stories however. I am not a travel writer and my photographing skills are mediocre at best. In fact, I managed to destroy several cameras while traveling, driving over them by car or drowning the equipment while kayaking.

My Beautiful Adventures
By Andi: I believe that I was born with a gypsy spirit, as I never feel comfortable staying in one place for too long. I believe that you can drink champagne any time of the day. I believe that humans should be able to breathe underwater. I believe that peace is the only way to peace. I believe that chocolate fixes every problem. I believe that Sunday’s are best spent in bed drinking a cafe con leche and reading the NY Times. I believe that animals are our friends, not our food. I believe that a day has been wasted if I have not learned at least one new thing. I believe that change is necessary for the growth of the soul. I believe that everyone should know how to say “hello” and “thank you” in the language of the country they are in. I believe that elephants are the most beautiful creatures to grace this planet. I believe sunsets should not be missed if possible. I believe that I have the greatest family and group of friends a person could ask for..

Trailing Trekker's Travels
By Kathy: Born and raised in South Africa, immigrated to the US at 19, started traveling after uni! Taught English in Korea, went for 11mths and returned 3yrs later. Have been to 23 countries at last count and still have the itchy feet. Have had to come to terms with the fact that I am not a “normal” 30 something that wants to settle down, but rather have an intense love of culture and nature, and travel is the best way to enjoy that. So am breaking out of the mold and spending a year or more on the road. Hope you will join me in my preparations and adventures.

Tourist2Townie
By Gareth: I decided to create Tourist2Townie.com. To connect with like-minded dream chasers, share unique travel adventures and provide inspiration and advice for regular people who wish to do remarkable things. This site is more of a social experiment and lifestyle design than it is a travel blog. It’s about people more than it is about places. It’s about chasing dreams rather than following the norm.
