Are you great with kids and young people? Do you want to help them get a good start in life? We have projects in South Africa working with different age ranges in childcare and teaching roles.

Vulnerable Children

The town's Children's Home and shelters are referred to locally as "places of safety". As a volunteer, you can help by working with children, and general caretaking which includes handing out porridge and brushing teeth, teaching English, reading, writing and pronunciation. Simple mathematics and counting, body hygiene, crafts and educational games for younger children may be available as well.

Teaching and Cultural Learning

Volunteers in the Soweto project work in a primary school which caters to disadvantaged learners coming from poor communities. Volunteers must be prepared to either assist a local teacher or teach in a classroom by themselves.
