It was an unforgettable two weeks. With each activity, different learning and experiences that stayed forever in my memory. The Kwantu Reserve staff are very welcoming and helpful. It really was a dream come true. I booked for two weeks but I believe that the minimum time to get to know and carry out all the activities is three weeks. The accommodation for volunteers is very spacious, clean, in other words, a very pleasant environment. And, the most amazing thing, is sleeping listening to the roar of lions. My volunteer work took place in a local community clinic in downtown Cape Town called Green Point Clinic. The clinic staff there were very welcoming and kind, and they guided me and very fun to work with. It was a fun experience and 2 weeks flew past so fast and I wished I could have spent more time and do more to help them. I live with a local host family in Cape Town with 4 other volunteers. Faaidah and her family welcomed me and treated me as if I was their family members. I'm sure all other volunteers in the house also felt the same. I will definitely miss all her delicious foods she cooked for us and the laughter we had every time we sat down together. I went to Cape Town trying to experience something new, and surely I got that and then some. I have met new family and friends that I will treasure forever. If I ever have the chance to do it again, I will!

My two sons - 15 years old and 17 years old went volunteering in Cape Town from Volunteering Solutions. I can't say enough how wonderful and life changing experience they have obtained! It was a great opportunity for boys at Ellerton Primary School to see the world from different prospective and feel the vibes of different continent! I strongly believe that these kind of life experiences build their their root memories and will definitely shape them as compassionate and caring people in their future lives.

It was a great experience and very fun. We got to do many different things that I normally wouldn't, like cut trees with machetes, planting trees, feeding animals, fixing roads. The people that work at the reserve were very nice and welcoming as well, they were happy to help with anything. The weekends were fun because we were able to go out and do different excursions in other cities, there were things like bungee jumping, skydiving, shark cage diving, and some national parks. Didn't get bored on this trip.

I had one of the most enjoyable months of my life in Cape Town, South Africa.

I volunteered with Volunteering Solutions in Cape Town after a recommendation from a friend who did it two years ago. I was placed at Gingerbread house kindergarten and had a wonderful time with the kids. Volunteering with the kids was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. During the program I stayed at the volunteer hostel in Observatory. It was a wonderful experience to meet so many like minded volunteers from all around the world. I made some great friends and Noel, the house manager was a great help always. During free time I hung out with other volunteers and we did trips to Robben Island and the Garden Route. The local team including Kevin were of great help, meeting us regularly and helping whenever required.

I would definitely recommend this experience to other participants. Cape Town is a great city and you shall surely have a great time. Thank you so much to the staff in South Africa and Volsol for making this trip possible.

My experiance was amazing !! I got to experiance cape town in a very uniqe way and a bit of a local prespective . I met amazing people and learnd so much about so many different things. Volunteering solution were very helpful and caring they gave me a good and secure feelig while i was away from home . They also took alot of intrest during my trip ! Would defently recommand everyone who is considering to go on this life changing expiriance . And of cours you get to see the most adorable and full of life kids they will defantly get deep in your heart !!

My volunteer work in South Africa was an amazing experience that I will never forget. I lived in a house with about 30 other volunteers, so I never really had any privacy, but that way I got to know a lot of new people from many different countries with whom I explored Cape Town and its surroundings. I still have contact to some of them. So this program definitely helps to build international friendships. Cape Town and its surroundings is so beautiful and it offers many different things to do. I also enjoyed my child care project in a crèche very much. The kids were adorable and it was great to get an insight into the local child care work. However, you should be aware of the fact, that you can offer the kids a bit of a change while you're there, but you won't be able to change anything fundamentally. For me it was enough to just spend time with the children and be there for them, especially because the local staff didn't do much with them and they have very little stuff to play with. But if your goal is to make a big change, this program is not right for you. And of course you also need to know that you have to pay a lot of money for the sleeping place, for the food and for the whole organization. But in my opinion it's worth the money, because it's an experience that will impact you for the rest of your life, especially in the way you will think about foreign, but also your own culture.

Overall I really enjoyed my month in Cape Town with volunteering solutions. I took part in the teaching programm in Chapel Street Primary School and I loved it. The kids were amazing, they made me feel so welcome and precious and the teachers were very friendly and supportive. I had a great time in my project and would really recommend everyone to take part in a project like this as well.
I stayed in a hostel in Observatory which I didn't like that much because there were just too many people (30 boys and girls) and you didn't have any privacy. We got dinner on 5 days of the week which I really appreciated. The staff in the hostel was friendly most of the time though the owner was grumpy from from time to time.
I would recommend volunteering solutions especially to young people who are looking for something to do after their graduation.
