Worldwide Internship

I completed a four-month internship with WWI. They found me a placement in Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun and I was very happy with my position. I worked as an assistant to the Quality Control Manager with the work generally consisting of computer based tasks. The manager I worked with was great and made me feel very welcome to the office team. I learned a lot of back office operations in the hotel, something which was a new thing for me. I worked six days a week having Sundays off.

Here are some tips that I would like to leave for future candidates who are considering an internship in Secrets Capri:

Accomodation is provided though be prepared that rooms are plain and old and there is no wifi or other source of Internet available. You are also most likely to share a room with 1-2 other people (which isn´t neccessarily a bad thing!).

Learn Spanish before hand. The work you are most likely to do is in English but please be aware that only a few collegues speak English and most of the hotel staff don´t speak any English. You´ll get more out from your time in Mexico if you learn as much Spanish as possible before arriving so you can mingle with everyone. Everyone in Secrets Capri are extremely friendly so you have no trouble finding opportunities to practice your Spanish! I did only a basic beginners course of Spanish before I arrived and I found it wasn´t enough.

I had a great time in Secrets Capri and Playa del Carmen is definitely a great place to stay. There is so much to do and see that you won´t have trouble finding something to do on your days off!

I went to this internship with another collague of mine, both of us arranged crosstraining internship trough several departments. My collegue was for a month in F&B as room service attendant which was really exsausting and he didn't have a chance to learn a lot, however he was noticed by the management and they respected their deal which was made on the begining; and after one month transfered him to the reservations department and now he is really learning and is satisfied. As per me, I am at front office (including reception, telephone operator and concierge). I will stay here one more month cause the computer system and all FO duties are too wide and complex to be handeled in one month period. I am happy in this department but at the begening I didn't have an assigned trainer so my learning procces was longer simply because my collegues didn't have time (due to high occupancy of 90+ %) to show me everything slowly.Right now, both of us are working equally as other staff members so I can say we are appriciated here. All the managment and the staff are really welcoming and helpful so we feel comfortable. Basically everything is great except the accomodation! We were extremy surprised when we saw where we will be staying.. We are living at the boundries of Dubai in Dubai Investment Park, 45 min-1 hour away from the hotel. Living conditions are bad, 4 people in a small room, only one bathroom on the floor that is used by 50 people. Everythig very old, water is boiling hot, and in both of our cases, bathroom is cca 50 meters away. However, as soon as we report a problem, our management is working really hard towards fixing it. So all in all, all compliments to the Ramada Downtown Hotel people but the accomodation is simply horrible. Now, like all the staff, we are use to it but maybe this should be mentioned before. All in all this is an experience that will determine my career and in the future can bring me only positive benifits! After finishing university, this internship was the best decision that I have made, no matter how hard and challenging it sometimes is!

For those looking for new job opportunities, or those who need a change in their current professional career, London is the city. I needed a change a in my actual career but also a great experience where I could grow professionally, where I could face daily challenges and learn the most out of it.
I was looking for an internship position in the hospitality industry, when World Wide Internship came into place. They offered me the possibility to move abroad, find me a great hotel in the heart of the city centre and they assisted me with the accommodation. I am really happy how they helped me through all the process until we found a suitable position for me.
The most difficult part was finding a not too expensive accommodation close to the Hotel. The city centre is really expensive and the options through the agency are not as wide as one would liked to be. Anyways, I am really thankful to them because they never gave up looking after me until I found a suitable place to stay.
This is a great experience, full of new challenges, new places to discover and whole new culture to live!

Before to start my internship in China I had a lot of doubts about this country. It was been amazing for me discover this wonderful country, my integration in the chines' environment was very fast and I do a lot of friends (local and foreign). In my work the conditions was been very professional and the staff was been very nice.
It is important to mention that my biggest problem in china was been the communication because most part of Chinese people don't speak English, but always the people try to so its best to help you.
Definitely I recommend this kind of programs, nowadays I'm feeling very happy to have been part of this program.

I spent 3 months working in the Quality Assurance Department in a 5 star resort, which highly interested me and therefore working towards improving the services became more than just a job.
My main duties were related to a project as part of the Guest Satisfaction program, with the level of responsibility assigned constantly increasing,which added value to my overall experience.
Overall, my internship was demanding and exciting, not only because I had the opportunity to work in a completely different environment and adapt to a new culture, but also because I was eager to learn, and challenged myself by accomplishing various tasks.
