How many people were on your trip?

Were there a lot of people on your trip? Did you find that it was easy or hard to get to know everyone?

For the first two weeks they split us up into 3 separate volunteer groups of 6 people each. Each of the groups became very close throughout those first two weeks because you are living together and working together and basically together constantly! The second two weeks we met up and it was super easy to get along and hang out with everyone.

For the first two weeks, you'll be separated into groups, and that group size is usually between 5-12 people, depending on how many people sign up/location/how they divide people up. In my group, there were only five of us which I thought was better since we got to know each other super well, and we worked really well together.

Once you go on the adventure portion, all the groups mesh together, and it's usually around 35-45 people altogether. It really depends on the people to see how well you get along with them. My group typically stuck together as much as possible since we became good friends by then, but some of the other groups were easy to talk to as well!

Let's see... I would guess there were about 15 or so students in the group. At any given time, we would have 2-4 guides with us to coordinate what we were doing. We had more guides during the first two weeks of conservation work as one project may only call for one instructor while another may require 3-4.

There were about 5 project groups, my project group on Motuihe Island had 8 of us and once we all met up for the adventure tour there were roughly 30 of us.

There was about 25 students. I don't recall how much the Overall cost was but the upgrade to more extreme adventures was about $300 and nearly everyone did that - Well worth it and you get to stay with the group more

There were 17 volunteers total and two group leaders. The group leaders I had were both phenomenal individuals. My group had a lot of people who were on the socially awkward side so it was hard to get close to certain people. You live and work with everyone, though, so you all get close to a degree. I got especially close with my chores group (which was five people total). I found that I got along with everyone fine. Others in my group had trouble. Overall, it was totally fine.

We had about 16 in my group and 8 in the other! It just all depends on the project needs. The first two weeks we all lived together on a marae. We worked together to do all the chores and cooking. The second two weeks about half us continued on to the adventure tour- the other group was really nice but by then we have already bonded to each other so we stuck together in our own groups!
