I really want to teach in Spain, but I'm not sure if I can commit to a full year. I'd like to have the option once I'm there to extend it.

Hi Kelsey- great question! Unless you're an EU citizen, the visa situation in Spain can be a little tricky... basically you need to know how long you're going to be there BEFORE you leave so you can get the correct visa. Luckily, there are a few options, you could consider a 3 month volunteer program or a 10 month language and culture assistant position -- think about the more long term option... time will fly once you're there!
I taught in Spain on a 10-month program (one full school year). This program offered me the option to extend as well.
