Teaching as a non-native speaker ?

Question Details

Hello, does anyone know if it is easy to teach abroad as a French girl with an advanced level in English (C1) ? In Thailand for instance ?

Thailand: you shouldn't have too much of a problem. It might be a little more difficult to find a job, but from what I've heard, you'll find one. If I were you, I'd also look at ajarn.com to see if you can find someone who has done the same thing.

Side note: there should be jobs for teaching French if you're interested in that.

Our Asia / Teach Abroad columnist Richelle talks more about it in this article: https://www.gooverseas.com/blog/can-you-teach-abroad-as-a-non-native-speaker

If you speak the language "like" a native English speaker, then you won't have a problem finding a job to teach English at all. I know people from Europe, who are non-native speakers, even teachers from Latin America who've found teaching jobs abroad without a problem.

All the best!
