Is it better to leave to get certified and teach in the summer, fall, or spring?

Question Details

I want to save as much money as possible before I go, but I want to make sure I get a job.

Answer

It depends on when you're going. For example, in Costa Rica most schools hire in January, so you could get certified in the fall and depart right after Christmas. However, in Spain, you'd want to start prepping in the spring and prepare to look for jobs / start them in August.

Hi Krista! Depending on where you want to teach, different times of year have different demand levels for foreign teachers. Some countries have multiple start dates (usually countries in Asia), where others offer a one-time start date per year.

Do you have an idea of where you would want to teach, or when you would like to start?
