Overall, the experience was definitely a great one. Absolute staff were extremely organised and supportive, and very friendly and approachable. As promised, they picked me up from the airport, and had many activities in store for all of us interns, including social events (sponsored and un-sponsored) as well as a few careers talks and networking sessions. The first weekend for instance we had a useful orientation, and some great tips from the team about Chinese norms and culture. There was also plenty of interaction between interns and the Absolute team alike, through all the social events. Because of their support, I was able to enjoy the experience, and never felt home-sick or lonely. The rest of the interns were also really great. They were an extremely diverse bunch, pretty much from all over the world, and yet everyone got along really well and we grew closer each day, and still remain in touch with one another.

However, there is always some room for improvement. There was an occasional hitch here or there, as with any international experience. For instance, the internet connection was extremely slow at times, which was very frustrating.There was also a 500RMB (refundable) housing deposit that I do not recall being told about, which we only got back the day we were checking out. Sponsored events also required (refundable) deposits, which were only returned after the event, which was somewhat inconvenient. The kitchen also lacked some appliances one would consider essential in the West; for instance a toaster/kettle.

That being said, I would highly recommend Absolute Internship. The team was extremely friendly, easy-going, approachable and a pleasure to spend time with. They had clearly invested a lot of time, effort and energy planning each day, and I believe they made all the arrangements to the best possible standards, ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout. I always felt comfortable knowing they would be there for even the slightest of problems!

I have always wanted to go to China due to my interest in developmental economics and emerging markets. I have chosen Shanghai because I have heard it is a beautiful city, with great energy, amazing culture and interesting history. What is more, it is also a great place to start your career as it offers so many opportunities for young people, especially those who like me, are interested in finance.

I am really happy that I have chosen Absolute Internships over the other companies that I've received offers from. Absolute proved to be amazing not only when it comes to securing my internship at one of the leading companies but also when it comes to organizing our social life in Shanghai so we could make the best of it. The whole team has taken great care of us and truly contributed to making this internship unforgettable experience.

My experience with Absolute Internship is one that I will always cherish. Most difficult thing was to cope with the insane amount of people and the fact it's a whole new world.
Keeping an open mind about everything in Shanghai definitely helped. It was always helpful to take distance physically and mentally from certain stuff, like crowds, the traffic and peoples way of interacting with each other.

Through this internship in shanghai I do understand China a little more and the culture in workforce. I was having a finance internship in shanghai, it gave me the experience that I cannot get from elsewhere, I been leaning about shares and currency exchange and mainly how to get along with other local workers, once you in China, you have to open your mind and accept thing which you think that isn't normal back home. It thought me a lot, I absolutely enjoyed it!

Meeting new friends! In Absolute you don't have to worry about your schedule, cause Absolute will plan it for you. The only thing you go to worry about is do I have enough TIME! Since in Shanghai is 24/7 non-stop city and there is plenty of Absolute activities waiting you to join. Also you will make friends with many people from other different countries!

Absolute is good at taking care of us, maybe I should said baby site us sometime, they are always here whenever we need them!
Overall I love my internship and it was a amazing experience in my life!

I interned in Shanghai through Absolute Internship in 2013. It was an amazing summer, and the Absolute staff contributed greatly to that. Living in China can be difficult to navigate at first, but Absolute helped us along the way. They walked us through everything - the little details of living in China, how to get to work, how/where to get any type of necessity, what were the best restaurants, etc. They were always there for us. We had a great group of interns from all over the world. Absolute Internship was the best choice of intern programs because they truly care about their interns.

I studied Tourism and Hospitality Management in undergrad, so I was interested in doing an internship in tourism. Absolute found me the perfect internship with a huge Chinese travel agency headquartered in Shanghai. The internship was exactly what I had asked for and it showed that they had listened to the details of what I was interested in.

highlights were the great people i met and how we all helped each other out as we were all in the same position in another country not speaking the language. The food was excellent in Shanghai and so was the bar and nightlight scene.

Difficulties were communication with the public as not many people spoke english.
