What is your favorite travel memory?

I got to experience Greece in 2017. I find it very stunning – beautiful landscape, food, drinks, and people. I absolutely loved it, and I just couldn't stay away from this beautiful Greek Island with a karaoke bar called Paros.

Another favorite memory is much closer to home, in a little place called Byron Bay. I went with one of my best friends, and we surfed, drank, ate... and the Hinterland! The stunning scenery, waterfalls, and natural rock pools to swim in make it very special.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

My knowledge on surfing and coaching and what it takes to run an amazing surf school has improved significantly. I have learnt so much from people who have been doing this much longer than me. I am so grateful for the time and effort these people around me have shared. They truly helped me grow and become a better person.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

During my first year, a woman named Mary took a group lesson at Bondi Beach. She was already in her forties and had always wanted to learn to surf but never got around to it. Until that day.

The 3 other students stood up quite often, but for Mary, it took right toward the end of the lesson. I was on the sand as the photographer capturing the best moments for these students. And then finally, I saw her stand up and ride the wave. Wow, what a moment!

After that, she started to cry of happiness from riding her first wave on her feet. Fast forward, she now surfs with a circle of friends down at Bondi Beach. We changed her life, and I am so happy to be a part of this journey for people.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) is Australia’s largest annual event for building tourism opportunities. I feel it would help the company grow as well as build and establish connections for the business.

It is an annual event held in a new city each year, and I would love to attend. It will be an amazing learning opportunity to build my career at Let’s Go Surfing.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Let’s Go Surfing prides itself with changing lives, one wave at a time. It is such an opportunity to be a part of such an amazing team that always looks for ways to help the community.

I remember a lesson we did with homeless men and the refugees; these men have never seen the ocean before. Seeing them experience the joy of the ocean and surfing and to forget their worries even for a moment was truly special.

I also love this moment we had with blind children and adults when we taught them to surf. It was inspirational how well each student did. It made me so proud to be a part of this team.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Core values, an amazing team, and hard work. To become successful, a company needs to be connected to their customers. To do this, we must be polite, professional, and go above and beyond in customer service. We thrive on teamwork and safety to make sure we can become the best surf school in the world.
