Job Description

Founded in 2008, Futuro Verde is a nonprofit, bilingual, international, and co-educational day school, serving 210 students from preschool to 12th grade. We offer a holistic and rigorous learning environment focused on environmental and global issues from our rural, jungle location in Cóbano, Costa Rica.

We are looking to hire an enthusiastic, dedicated, and highly qualified teaching professional who is looking for an adventure. The successful candidate will work with our students from 8th to 12th grades in math.

Must have:
•A passion for the teaching and learning process
•The ability to work independently while also looking for meaningful opportunities to collaborate with colleagues
•Dynamic and resilient with strong cultural intelligence skills
•A deep interest in the IB diploma program
•Bilingual - Spanish/English (preferred)
•Responsibilities of the position:
•To work with classes from 8th to 12th grades in math
•To work with 11th and 12th grade students in the following subjects:
•IB Mathematical Studies SL

Responsibilities:

•To create two year plans, annual plans, unit, and daily lesson plans according to curriculum requirements
•To support students through differentiation, individualization, and academic intervention where needed
•40 hours per week in school with presence required at events out of school hours
•To communicate regularly with parents
•Provide study and support sessions for students of the IB diploma program according to the schedule set by the IB Coordinator and School Director
•To organize and lead at least one regular extracurricular activity or club to contribute to the development of student life at Futuro Verde
•Interest or experience in constructivist teaching and the IB diploma program
•A love of working with children and the outdoors
