Company Description

The Omololu International School, opened in 1992 and located in Anguilla, British West Indies, has a vacancy for a Head of School. This position is currently vacant, and the start date will be between January 1 to August 1, 2022, based on the availability of the final candidate. As a result, an Acting Head of School may be needed in the interim. Omololu runs from Kindergarten to Eighth grade in a traditional classroom setting with a new proctored online learning high school program started in September of 2021. Enrolment fluctuates between 100-120 students with 80% local children and 20% expatriate children. Omololu’s philosophy is to create a warm community atmosphere and an academic environment that stimulates personal initiative, global intellectual curiosity, and the desire to teach students to become strong community leaders, lifelong learners, and empathetic international citizens.

Job Description

Position: Acting Head of School - Temporary if needed.
As separate job post exists for our full-time Head of School position.

Responsibilities
The Acting Head of School will have the interim responsibility for the day-to-day operation of this intimate private International Baccalaureate accredited program which incorporates a blended curriculum of national and regional curricular with the International Baccalaureate principles. The Acting Head of School will be expected to oversee the administration of the school for a period of up to six months with support from the school’s Board of Directors. Responsibilities will include:

Business Leadership
• Successful execution of day-to-day operations.
• Effectively managing stakeholder interests and relations including: Board, Faculty/Staff, Parents, Students.
• Successfully manage the school’s business affairs.
• Maintain a positive organizational culture during a transitional period.

Educational Leadership
• Successfully uphold the standards for managing the quality and consistency of the educational product delivered.

Financial Management and Fundraising
• Carefully managing the school’s financial wellbeing through accurate, responsible, and timely use of available funds.

Administration and Operations
• Manage the health and safety standards for relevant stakeholders.
• Successful stewardship of the school facilities and assets.

Human Resource Management
• Effectively support, motivate and lead a diverse and highly talented faculty.

Customer Care
• Be a nurturing and empathetic educator and counselor to all students.
• Be an open and supportive leader to all families.
