Job Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in an graduate program for social work, psychology or mental health counseling program;
  • Must reside within one the CARICOM countries during internship for remote services;
  • Must demonstrate excellent organizational, written, and communication skills
  • Must have a commitment to working from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective
  • Must have access to reliable device (PC/Laptop/Tablet) and Wifi for remote services
  • Preferences but not requirement: 2nd year student, preferred; Resides in Antigua-Barbuda;
  • Preferences but not requirement: Some experience and demonstrated skill in working with children and/or adults; Prior experience in providing remote mental health or supportive services.
  • Must be fluent in the English language
  • Must have or willing to complete cultural competency training, Child Abuse Training, and Sexual Harrassement Training

Job Description

Learning Objective:
Clinical Interns will develop appropriate clinical skills and competencies in preparation for entry level practice as professional psychotherapist (graduate level social worker, mental health counselor, psychology).

Participates in all aspects of OBS services including intake, supportive counseling and marketing support
Provide individual counseling to children, teens and/or adults
When providing group therapy, develop and utilize group work strategies that support and enhance group objectives
Perform family psychotherapy and parent consult to support child/teen engagement, psychoeducation on diagnosis and parenting skills
Refer clients to appropriate resources
Participate in Team meetings
Perform crisis intervention as needed
Actively participate in supervision with Clinical Supervisor
Must have access to reliable device (PC/Laptop/Tablet) and Wifi to deliver remote services
Perform other duties as assigned
