What is your favorite travel memory?
Arriving in Bangkok for the first time aged 20. It was the first time I had been outside Europe and my life changed in that moment. I have now travelled to over 40 different countries but my memory of that first day will never leave me. From that moment, I always knew that I would travel as much as possible for the rest of my life.
How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?
opportunity to develop my professional skills but also make new friends and grow as an individual. I also consider work-life balance to be an important factor of any job - something which I am currently achieving. I also love working with an international team who have a global perspective. I am also financially stable and feel I am at the right stage of my career for my age.
What is the best story you've heard from a return student?
I am always thrilled when people move to a new country for a year but end up staying for an indefinite period and making a life for themselves in a place they had never thought it would happen. One student is now a long-term resident of Bangkok and engaged to her Thai boyfriend. I can't wait for the wedding!
If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?
The 120-hour TEFL course gives aspiring teachers the platform which they need to move abroad and start a new career. While nothing can fully prepare you for what it will be like in the classroom, a solid TELF course is an excellent grounding. It's the foundations of your career and gives you the confidence to step into the classroom.
What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?
Jocelyn and Whitney are true professionals and passionate about their work. I have known them both for many years before they started the TEFL PROS company and their dedication and skill-set for the industry clear was always evident. For them it is not just a business but a way of life as they know the joys of travelling and living abroad.
