Empowering Women and Exploring Tanzania

Volunteering with Kukua Pamoja Tanzania during the year 2022 was a transformative experience that I will cherish forever. From the moment I expressed interest, the communication with the NGO was warm and professional, making me feel welcomed even before I arrived. I was impressed by the passion of the local team, who are dedicated to empowering women through entrepreneurship. During my stay, I helped organize fundraising campaigns, managed social media accounts, promoted local women’s products, and conducted training sessions on business skills and improving handmade products. One standout memory was visiting a vibrant craft market where women showcased their handmade jewelry and textiles—seeing their pride and resilience was inspiring. The logistics were seamless; airport pickups and transfers were punctual and comfortable, easing my arrival and departure. The orientation sessions provided deep insights into the NGO’s mission, and I appreciated how approachable and supportive the staff were throughout. My first day included a city tour of Arusha, allowing me to immerse myself in Tanzanian culture. The women’s empowerment project, combined with the business training, truly opened my eyes to their potential, and I felt privileged to contribute. During my free time, I explored local markets and joined a safari organized by the NGO, which was a breathtaking experience. This journey not only helped me grow personally but also strengthened my desire to support such impactful work. I highly recommend this program for anyone seeking a meaningful adventure.
