Did you participate in a program abroad? If so, where and what inspired you to go?

Dita: I participated in a summer abroad program in Eastern Europe and Israel between my Junior and Senior years of High School. It was a six week program where we spent 2 weeks in Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic and 4 weeks in Israel. I was inspired to see the destruction from the Holocaust in Eastern Europe and the outcome of survival in Israel. I also wanted to meet other teens interested in similar topics around the US.

What aspect of working at ThinkImpact inspires you the most?

Dita: I am most inspired by the fact that we are a high impact company and that we are a global company.

What separates ThinkImpact from other study abroad/internship providers?

Dita: ThinkImpact provides personal involvement from each scholar and a curriculum which guides communities and scholars. It is a program that encourages people to arrive with their own assets and to rid themselves of preconceived notions of other cultures.

If you had to choose one, what destination would you recommend to prospective students?

Dita: Out of the programs ThinkImpact offers, I would recommend Rwanda. It has gone through so many changes in the last 30 years and it would be very interesting to see where things are today.

What is one piece of advice you would offer someone considering going abroad?

Dita: To have an open mind and really try to immerse yourself in the culture you are joining.

Anything else you would like to share?

Dita: ThinkImpact offers a program where every person has the opportunity to make real changes and high impact. It’s a life changing experience.
