Spend the spring semester in the classic city of Florence, Italy. Earn up to 16 credits through a variety of courses studying at Richmond. Courses are taught in English or Italian, and no previous Italian language study is required.
This program combines Florence’s long history in the field of fashion and luxury goods and specialized coursework to give students interested in a career in fashion a unique academic experience. Students take a 3-credit language course plus 4 mandatory fashion related courses. A further 1 credit is available by taking the optional Introduction to Italian Art course.
Live in a homestay or a shared student apartment located in different neighborhoods of the city center. You’ll enjoy cultural and social activities such as visits to the many museums, churches and cultural sites of Florence, Italian cooking classes, opera and ballet performances, Italian cheese tastings, a gelato tour, and day trips to Pisa, Lucca, the Vespa Factory and more.
