About This Program

The top of Poon Hill is one of the best places to gaze at the Himalayas in Nepal. Trek to the summit and see how beautiful the big wall in the north looks from here.

Poon Hill is a mountain of its own accord but is dwarfed in the presence of the Himalayan range. From the top of the hill, at an elevation of more than 10,000 feet, you can see the Annapurna massif together with adjacent peaks. So this trip combines both mountaineering and sightseeing. The beautiful villages and the pristine forests we walk through during the trip add to the experience.

  • Moderate and the most popular short trek of Nepal.
  • Ghandruk village and the stunning views of Annapurna and Machapuchre.
  • Enjoy the view of beautiful Nepali villages, forests and of-course the majestic views of Himalayas.
  • Poon Hill offers you the striking panorama of huge Himalayas including Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna II, III, and IV, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal, Gangapurna, and Manaslu ranges among few others.

Day 01 - Arrival. Overnight at hotel.

We will be there to receive you at the airport as you land into Kathmandu (4,600 feet) and take you to your hotel.

Day 02 - Drive to Pokhara (around 3,000 feet in the city) by tourist bus. Overnight at hotel.

We ride to the famous tourist town of Pokhara in a tourist bus. It is a seven hour trip through serpentine roads carved into the hills with stops for lunch and snacks in villages along the way. At Pokhara, the lakeside area offers an amazing nightlife to relax you ahead of your trekking trip.

Day 03 - Drive to Nayapool (3,477 feet). Trek to Ulleri (6,430 feet). Overnight at guesthouse.

It takes less than 45 minutes in a car to reach Nayapool village. The trekking routes around Mount Annapurna begins here. We will start by a hiking up to Ulleri. It takes about five hours to get here and we have to pass through several villages and streams.

Day 04 - Trek to Ghorepani (9,416 feet) then trek to Poon Hill (10,535 feet). Overnight at guesthouse.

It again takes five to six hours to trek to Ghorepani village. We make our way uphill through forests and you will surely be in a lot of pain after this day. Poon Hill lies in the village and we trek its summit. The view of the Himalayas will be there to comfort you.
