This busy trauma centre admits over 650 turtles each year, repairing shell injuries, managing wounds, incubating and raising hatchlings for release and nursing the turtles back to health. You can contribute to turtle conservation by volunteering at this turtle hospital and rehabilitation facility.
We have education and rehabilitation placements- both have you volunteering directly with endangered species. The work varies from inside cleaning, feeding and enrichment to outside field work! From little smiling Blanding's turtles to huge snapping turtles, you will get hands on experience learning how to care for them, protect their habitat and conserve their populations.
Help prevent turtles form disappearing from our ecosystems by volunteering in the field, in the medical clinic and in educational presentations. This placement will have you getting your hands dirty for these misunderstood but important animals.
