About Program

Spend a semester after high school making a difference in a Costa Rican community while soaking up the local culture. Throughout your four weeks, you’ll stay with other members of your group at a variety of locations like hotels, camps, and hostels. For a portion of the program, you’ll get to live with a local host family and experience Costa Rican culture first-hand, all in the lush tropics of this beautiful country.

You will be assigned a community service project based on your personal skills and interest. As a community service volunteer, you might participate in social, health, or education projects, work on an organic farm, assist park rangers at a National Reserve, or help at a botanical garden. Upon arrival, you'll participate in a two-day orientation followed by ten days of Spanish instruction, then travel to your host community. Then at the end of the program, you’ll visit the sandy white beaches of Punta Leona!
