About Program
Classroom teaching assistants play an extremely important role at Abriendo Mentes. These volunteers spend 5 days a week working in our after school English program, a program that is free for local elementary students in the communities where we operate.
Primary duties will include supporting the Lead Teacher with lesson planning, lesson execution, classroom procedures and general assistance with our Youth programs. Classroom Assistants will also be asked to participate in our weekly extracurricular activities (depending on your site placement) including swim team, surf team, art class, field trips, study sessions, and Fun Friday.
