Travellers Worldwide currently offers two teaching placements in Ecuador.
The first on is in Quito. The school is for children between the ages of 5 to 14 years old. It is a public, government funded school, which means that all the equipment, teachers, school uniforms, school lunches and class materials are provided by the government. Because of this the children come from all walks of life - however the majority of them are very poor. The families of these children mainly earn their living from being bricklayers, artisans, housemaids, street vendors or are unemployed.
The second one takes place in the Galapagos Islands. You will be working with children from different group of age, from 4 to 18 years old, and adults too. You will also have the opportunity teach conservation education and art if you like to, as children are eager to learn. Besides your teaching commitment you will also be involved in a local nursery for vulnerable children.
