School Construction Project in Ciudad Vieja, Guatemala!
About Program
Students Offering Support (SOS) has a history of establishing connections with communities and organizations in different countries in Central America and putting in numerous resources to strengthen and grow these connections.
This August, SOS will be continuing within this model as volunteers travel to Ciudad Vieja in Guatemala for the second time this year. In May, SOS volunteers were accompanied by representatives from Ninos de Guatemala, a local organization who SOS has worked with numerous times, to begin the initial phases of this project. SOS volunteers will be completing the construction of school in Ciudad Vieja. Particularly a Basico school, which is similar to a Canadian middle school.
When the new infrastructure is completed Ninos de Guatemala will use the space to implement their educational programs and provide students with a space to learn.

If you want to spend a trip chasing waterfalls, meandering through lush jungles, and seeing world heritage sites; Guatemala should be high on your list. Guatemala can be easy to overlook when there are more travelled destinations in the area, but don't be fooled, this country is filled with incredible landscapes and culture, all at a great price.
