When you think of Madagascar it is almost impossible to not think of its Lemurs! Courtesy of the ‘Madagascar’ films, King Julian and his tribe of furry friends symbolise the island, but the truth is that Lemurs have inhabited the islands for centuries.
Sadly, due to the increasing human population in Madagascar, the island’s iconic primate is endangered because their habitats are being destroyed. Fortunately, Frontier has recently developed a new and exciting project on the island which aims to conserve King Julian and all is friends! Volunteers on this project will spend their time collecting important survey data on the Lemur’s habitat which will help drive future conservation research.
