About Program
Thousands of people in Lisbon live below the poverty line, often unable to afford to maintain their homes. Some people live without running water, little light or outdated appliances. Volunteers go into people's homes to help with painting, redecorating, tiling, fitting showers, fitting kitchens and more. Not only will you be making a fantastic contribution to people's lives, you will also be learning some valuable life skills.
Volunteers work for 4 hours per day, with the rest of their time free to relax and explore.

Sustainability
Oyster Worldwide is passionate about the importance of responsible travel. We want our projects to fit in with the local way of life, without having a negative impact on the environment, culture or economy. This means that we will only send participants to places where there is a real need and where we have been asked to work. Once there, they should fit in with the community, respecting their way of life and supporting, rather than taking, local jobs.
