This organization provides a day care center in Danishpet, India. It is a small village near the town Salem. A lot of the families there are very poor and the program is for fostering the children in their development. So day to day the children (age about 6 to 16) come to the center in the morning where they get food and help with their homework. Then they go to school and in the afternoon many come back to play and spend time again in the center. Your part is teaching the children english and playing sports, music, dance. This happens in the morning and afternoon weekdays, on the weekend there is no fixed schedule. The rest of the time you can experience rural life in India as you will be about the only foreigner there. The staff in the center is extremely helpful and kind and they provide you everything you need. The accomodation and food is very good, there is a fast internet connection and you get trips to the cities nearby, markets and sight seeing places. The highlight for me was playing with the kids and experiencing the simple and grounding life of these kind people. I can recommend this to you if you want to give something to these children who have so little. You will experience a lot of love and fun in return. This is no big organization with many volunteers yet which is in my opinion an advantage. The organization is christian and the children are taught christian values so you should be christian as well or open to it.

Would you recommend this program?
