Internship in Montevideo

I started this internship as part of my degree requirements. I was expecting to spend 4 months with my head down, working hard, and then returning home each day. That couldn't have been further from the truth. I met people from all over the world and tried to learn as much as I could about their cultures and their countries. I found Uruguayans to be lovely, always eager to help and see how you were doing- sharing their mate too. My experience with Adelante was amazing, I always knew what was happening with my internship, and communication was always swift, taking one day on average to reply to any email I would send. Having the programme coordinator there in person was a big factor of why I chose to do my internship with Adelante Abroad. As a young solo female traveller, safety was one of my primary concerns, and though my time passed uneventfully, it definitely made me feel safer having a 24/7 contact. My internship itself was absolutely perfect for what I wanted, and living and working with Uruguayans in immersion helped m Spanish massively. I'd recommend this programme to everyone- especially those who are concerned about personal safety
