Hablaworld Learning Center

Why choose Hablaworld Learning Center?

Our school is located in the heart of the city, accessible by metro and tram, and from our balconies you can almost smell the Patio de las Naranjas and hear the tolling of the bells of the Giralda. A charming place to deepen the Spanish language and culture. Marked by a distinctly international spirit, hablaworld's team is made up of qualified native teachers who know that motivation is your best ally. The certainity that communication is the basis of language learning is in our DNA and for this reason the use of technologies and oral communication is essential in our classes. Nevertheless, if there is a word that defines our philosophy is FLEXIWORLD, a new concept through which students can buy a number of classes and book them on the schedule at convenience from their own home. Finally, we are convinced that learning Spanish should be a real experience, that is, students will have the chance to learn it through different approaches to the Spanish culture (flamenco, tapas, etc)

What position do you hold at Habla World? What has been your career path so far?

I currently work as a teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language at Habla World. My career has always been related to languages.

Firstly, during my years as a journalist, I learned the richness and rudiments of my own language, Spanish; secondly, after studying a second degree in English Studies, I got involved in the process of teaching languages which is something that I definitely love.

Getting the chance to meet people from all over the world is what makes my job both challenging and enticing. Besides, I can’t help but think that as a local I have the duty to offer my students the cultural and linguistic knowledge they need to make the best of their time abroad.

Did you study abroad?! If so, where and what inspired you to go?

Yes, twice. One year I went to Rome and another one I went to Edinburgh. They were some of the best experiences in my life! Despite the fact that I had different motivations for the two experiences, the result was the same: they both surpassed my expectations! I went to Rome through the Erasmus program and the decision was based on my love for the classical culture and the beauty of the Italian language.

When I moved to Edinburgh the context was different, it was 2009 and in Spain the economic crisis had just started. I felt that I needed to improve my knowledge of English if I wanted to get better job opportunities. What I didn’t know was that I would fall in love with the country; Scotland is a must for nature lovers. I came back from Edinburgh sure that I wanted to be involved in the teaching of languages.

Why is language learning and cultural immersion important to you?

Learning a foreign language is more than memorizing grammatical rules and vocabulary. It allows people to think in new ways, to understand different cultures better, and to communicate with people that, in spite of the differences, are, very probably, moved by the same things that you are. On top of all the benefits that learning a foreign language can bring, the opportunity to be completely immersed in a different city, country, and culture can be a life changing experience. In summary, I think that learning a language and studying abroad for a period of time makes you a better, a more supportive, and a more tolerant person.

What unique qualities does your company possess?

Personally, I think that the international spirit of Habla World (our staff are from different countries) is one of its main features. In our offices you’ll hear Italian, French, English, German, Chinese and, of course, Spanish! All of our teachers are specialized in the teaching of their mother tongue and are very glad to help new students in their adaptation to Spanish life.

The flexibility (you can choose your own schedule) or the possibility of enjoying free activities with locals (book clubs, film screenings) are, on the other hand, some of the novelties that students can take part in. Finally, our location in the very center of Seville and just a few meters from the Cathedral makes our language school one of the most charming in the area.
