Job Description

Keerapat International (KPIS) is a small school in the north eastern suburbs of Bangkok. Due to our increasing enrollment, we are currently seeking an additional Kindergarten, Grade 3 and 5 Homeroom teachers.

The ideal candidate should have a BA.Ed or PGCE with state or national teaching license and preferably 2 years experience.

The homeroom teacher is responsible for planning, teaching and assessing the four core subjects of Language Arts (English), Math, Science and Social Studies. A team teacher will be in the class to help with preparations. The school follows the Californian curriculum; as far as is practical, to classes of between 15-25 students. Teachers use a combination of US textbooks, websites and teacher made resources to create challenging and active lessons. English is the medium of instruction and although the majority of the students are Thai. You would be expected to communicate information to parents about grades, homework and daily happenings. Homeroom teachers are expected to lead their classes through various activities like Halloween, Christmas, class plays and other small events.

The school is located just out of Bangkok city center and apartments in the area range between 3 000-12 000 baht a month. Some teachers stay downtown and take a taxi in for about 200-300 baht a day, downtown apartments are between 7 000 and 20 000 baht a month. Besides the school lunch the average Thai meal will be under 100 baht, however there are all kind and nationalities of restaurants from Turkish to Mongolian, Indian to Mexican and all the regular fast food outlets. Thailand is within easy access to Laos, Cambodian, Vietnam, Malaysia via train or bus and cheap flights are available to other South East Asian countries.
