Why did you decide to intern abroad with AIFS?

AIFS seemed like a very professional internship agency that could help people get a productive internship in the Sales & Marketing department. All of its social media pages were very appealing and also the experiences of other interns that were posted on these pages.

Moreover the Australian internship agency took keen interest in looking at objectives and expectations from an internship and then went about finding a suitable internship. The internship coordinator was one of the driving factors in choosing AIFS as the preferred internship agency as she was very kind and helpful right from the start of the internship application.

What made this intern abroad experience unique and special?

The experience was very special because this was the first time I was working overseas and was very excited about it. The host company made it a memorable experience, as all the colleagues were very nice and helpful. There was so much fun in doing all the work as everyone used to have a laugh and keep the office environment nice and friendly.

The best part was that everyone gave equal respect to each other and considered each employee equally important to the organisation. It was incredible to work for such an organisation.

How has this experience impacted your future?

This experience has given a sense of working in the real world that will be very useful in future. An overview was gained of how each department of a five star hotel operates to make sure their guests enjoy the best possible experience. Moreover a lot was learned about working in the Sales and Marketing department and experiencing different techniques to get new/repeat business for the Hotel.

What did AIFS do for you and what did you need to do on your own?

AIFS did things that were more than expected. The main focus was on the internship objectives throughout the application procedure as these were discussed repeatedly with AIFS as well as the host company to make sure things go smoothly. The internship coordinator responded as quickly as possible to all the queries and made sure that there was no confusion with the internship program.

All I had to on my own was fill out the visa and application forms. Everything else was managed and coordinated by the internship coordinator. The induction given by AIFS before the commencement of the internship was very helpful as it gave a brief idea about the work culture in Australia and all the Do’s and Don’ts in the office.
