A recent grad from London, UK and currently working in an advertising agency in Shanghai after coming to China with an internship placed by IntuuChina.

Why did you decide to intern abroad with IntuuChina?

I decided to intern abroad with IntuuChina because, after trying to look for job opportunities abroad, I realized most of the companies wanted to meet in person first before offering me a job position.

I did some research and found IntuuChina to be one of the least expensive recruiting agencies. I felt reassured and confidently bought my airline ticket knowing that I had an internship placement and people to help me along the way. I started applying for job positions right away and after my three-month internship, I managed to land a job!

What did IntuuChina do for you and what did you need to do on your own?

IntuuChina picked me up from the airport, helped me find a flat and provided me with Chinese classes. They did an excellent job of helping me register at the police station and buy my Chinese SIM card which would have been a pain if I didn’t have a local person helping me out. They provided me with the basics; afterwards, I had to learn how to do things myself but felt more confident doing so, especially after some Chinese lessons.

Describe your favorite must-have food that you tried abroad.

I love spicy food! For any other spicy food lovers, I would recommend Szechuan dishes. One of my top favorites is Spicy Szechuan Eggplant. It’s basically eggplant and ground pork stir-fried with chili paste and other seasonings.
