What is your favorite travel memory?

ISL Costa Rica volunteers and team

I had the opportunity to accompany an education team to visit the Manos Abiertas Foundation. Even though we only visited for one day, I enjoyed it so much because I got to interact with the volunteers and residents of the institution as well as assisting the faculty supervisor in the planning of several activities related to this field by using my acquired knowledge as a preschool education student.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

There has been so much change in my personal and professional growth. We really don't need much to help others, just having the heart of service can make such a difference.

I have realized that I am able to accomplish so much more than I originally thought I could before working with ISL.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

I am sure that all of the destinations have something special, but Tanzania would be my top choice. Before I started with ISL I always imagined myself visiting this country as a volunteer where I could love and help others.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

The great heart of the people in Costa Rica that are always willing to help. The beautiful landscapes, and of course, the famous dish "rice and beans with lizano sauce," are all additional reasons as to why ISL Costa Rica is so unique.

To me, team means every single person that is part of ISL, therefore I am very proud - not of something specific - but of each person in ISL for the things that they do.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

A team willing to work hard for what they all believe in, when they're working for the same mission and vision, and above all, loving what they do. Another important factor would be communication, this is key in order to make things work.
