What is your favorite travel memory?

Students from GEO Study Abroad Segovia

My favorite travel memories include experiencing new things, including different cultures, cuisines, people, landscapes, cities, art, and learning more about the many beautiful aspects of our world.

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I have learned many things. A few of the most important include leading by example, patience, appreciation of other ways of thinking, and gratitude for being a part of this important program.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

At the end of every program students tell me how their experience in Segovia has changed their lives, how much they have learned and how they've grown in confidence and skills. One student in particular had an uncooperative attitude because she didn't want to, but had to take my European Union class for credits.

When I saw her a few years later on the UO campus, she hugged me and thanked me. She told me that in spite of her resistance, she had learned so much from my class that she was now pursuing her Ph.D. in European Studies. She added that she had been inspired by my patience and positive attitude, and that she considered me her "hero." To know that I had made such an impact on a student meant a lot to me.

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

My preference is Segovia, of course, because I appreciate this charming city and its people, and its close proximity to Madrid. However, if I had to choose another program it would be in Angers because I speak French, and it is comparable to Segovia - small, manageable, walkable city with a lot of rich culture and history.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Segovia offers an up close experience with all the centuries throughout Spain. It is like a living museum. It is a safe, walkable and richly cultural city with easy access to Madrid and beyond.

Segovia is large enough for a full cultural experience, but small enough to feel like home.

Every day I am proud of my team because I can count on them for whatever support the students and the program need with a "can do" attitude. We work very well together and enjoy each other.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

Positive attitude and respect as well as a mix of flexibility, a good team, generous families, and a beautiful, safe city.
