What is your favorite travel memory?

That must be the Maldives.

It was in Jan 2019; I went to the Maldives for my work. As told, Maldives is heaven but everybody feels in different ways. So what the Maldives left to me is beyond awesome. I have got a host family there and they took care of me just like their own kids (BTW, I made friends with the elder kid; she is such a darling). And on my first vacation, I went to another beach for a holiday. That island called Maffushi (it means water"). I remember we took a boat, which cost us 2 hours and more to arrive, but that island is totally worth it.

We arrived at 5:30; that afterglow I can never erase from my mind. That beach, that glow and that sound from the big, big waves...I even went to do yoga the day after and watched the sunrise and that day was my 23rd BD!! Everything is just perfect. I will go back to the Maldives again!

How have you changed/grown since working for your current company?

I used to be a teacher without many teaching skills. I know we have learned that in school from my major, but that's not enough when it comes to real practice. In Silk, we have a lot of training programs and mentor and really helped me out. I become more confident and more active from my current job. And I see this job a very serious thing.

What is the best story you've heard from a return student?

There is a lady called Mariana. She is from Brazil. So our first class was totally a mess. I got wrong with the time and she was angry with that. But finally, I got her home and we spent a very happy time together. But she asked for a long leave because she was not in a good health condition. So in late 2019, she texted me she is pregnant! Again! So this time I get to meet her first kid, and I can not wait!

If you could go on any program that your company offers, which one would you choose and why?

Actually, I would like to do any programs that my company might offer since this is my dream job and whatever the program is, I believe it is must be something that excites me. But what is the most I would like to do? I think it will be something related to Teaching materials or culture things, like Chinese histories and so on. I do think this kind of program will lift me to a higher standard of teaching, and it will take to a wider unknown place.

What makes your company unique? When were you especially proud of your team?

Our team is a young team; it's only been years and it is still growing. I love this kind of company where people can grow together and share experiences. Many of the teachers here are very very experienced; I respect them a lot, but what I respect more is they are really kind and nice persons. They are always willing to listen and make corrections.

We work together and we share the results together - that is AWESOME! Everyone here has chances to speak what's in their mind and every word valued! I feel I am working to build myself a better teacher but not just a staff who works for their boss.

What do you believe to be the biggest factor in being a successful company?

I think is co-work. Every team needs a core and that core is what keeps the team going on. And co-work is the most vital part. In China, there is a saying “There is strength in numbers". Where here comes to big trouble, co-work is always the best way to work things out. In our company, we do a lot of things by co-working, and it turned out we solve problems in this way.
