Rocky Mountain Escape

Rocky Mountain Escape

Why choose Rocky Mountain Escape?

Rocky Mountain Escape is a small ecotourism facility located in a relatively remote area adjacent to Jasper National Park and vast, undeveloped Willmore Wilderness along the front ranges of the Alberta Rocky Mountains. We have three hand-crafted log cabins for guest accommodation, and focus on teaching guests how to interact with a wilderness environment in a safe, responsible and enjoyable manner. We cater to travelers looking for a quiet, scenic and non-touristy spot from which to experience our mountain environment.

Excellent experience

My husband and I spent 5 months volunteering at the Rocky Mountain Escape and we had the experience of a life time. There is no better place to truly experience the Canadian wilderness.Laura is an amazing host. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about the local environment. She taught us skills that range from tracking animals, chopping wood to learning about the local Flora and Fauna. It was such a pleasure to be hiking in such pristine wilderness using trails that are frequented only by animals. In between our daily tasks we had many occasions to see wonderful wild animals. We spent many mornings watching the family of Deer's have their breakfast grazing on the grass outside our accommodation to watching the cheeky black bear that would often stroll peacefully past the cook house, not to mention visiting the Cougar den, what more could you ask for in an adventure!I could not recommend it enough!

What would you improve about this program?
We want to live there and never leave!
